Duty to God in Cub Scouting

Scouting America's Declaration of Religious Principle states that:
...no member can grow into the best kind of citizen without recognizing an obligation to God and, therefore, [Scouting America] recognizes the religious element in the training of the member, but it is absolutely nonsectarian in its attitude toward that religious training. Its policy is that the home and organization or group with which the member is connected shall give definite attention to religious life.

The recognition of duty to God is also manifest both in the Scout Oath and the Scout Law. Therefore, each rank in Cub Scouts has a required Family & Reverence adventure which is intended to be completed by each Scout at home with family. These adventures are:

The adventure may be earned either by:
  • Completing the requirements and notifying the den leader that they are complete
  • Earning the religious emblem appropriate to each Scout's rank
