The Scouting year is almost over, and you know what that means:
The Annual Pack 9 Family Campout!
Adventure! Excitement! Hiking! Geocaching! Games! Haute cuisine cooked by Troop 9! Campfire skits! Scout Leader jokes! Mr. Haggin might even bring his ham radio! 😇
When and Where
- When: Saturday, May 23, 12:00 Noon - Sunday, May 24, no later than 10:00 AM
- Where:
- Camp Robert Drake, 9994 Camp Drake Road, Fairmount, IL
- Whip-Poor-Will Campsite
What To Bring
- Tent
- Camp chair
- Camp mattress/cot
- Sleeping bags/blankets
- Pillow(s)
- Toiletries
- Toothpaste/toothbrush
- Hair brush/comb
- Prescription medicine for parents and scouts, if applicable
- Small backpack to carry items for hiking/walking
- Six Essentials
- Water
- Trail Snacks
- Trail snacks must be stored in vehicles, or you may be visited by the trash pandas
- Flashlight or Headlamp
- First Aid Kit
- Sun Protection
- Whistle
- Bug repellent
- Hat, preferably a sun hat with a good brim
- A few changes of socks and underwear
- Pajamas
- Water shoes for wading on the Pebble Beach hike
- Class A and Class B uniforms, including neckerchief and neckslide
- Adults: battery bank for charging electronics or power station for CPAP
Tentative Schedule
Saturday
- 12 PM: Arrive at Camp Drake and make camp
- 1:30 PM: Hike to Pebble Beach
- Afternoon: Geocaching, ham radio, Gaga Ball, and/or free activity
- 5 PM: Dinner courtesy of Troop 9
- 7 PM: Campfire Ceremony
- 8 PM: S'mores
- 10 PM: Lights Out
Sunday
- 6 AM: Reveille
- 7 AM: Breakfast
- 8:30 AM: Break camp
- 10 AM: End of Campout
