Kaufman Lake Cleanup: April 12, 2025 (Boneyard Creek Community Day)

On Saturday, April 12, 2025, Pack 9 will continue its long tradition of helping out with Boneyard Community Day. For well over a decade we have been coming out to serve the community by keeping Kaufman Lake beautiful.

Check-in with Park District staff is at 8:45 AM at Kaufman Lake, 2702 W Springfield Ave in Champaign. We are usually done by 10:30am.

Please signup on this page for the Kaufman cleanup by April 5 so that we can provide the organizers a rough headcount; however, registration will be available onsite as well. Come when you can; leave when you need to.

What to Wear?
Dress to work outside. No open-toed shoes. Scouts should wear the purple Pack 9 Class B t-shirt. Also, Park District staff typically have orange Boneyard shirts to hand out on-site for volunteers.

Volunteer Lunch
Immediately after the cleanup, a free lunch for volunteers will be served at Scott Park, where there will be music and interactive learning displays. It usually starts between 11:00 and 11:30.
