Pack 9 Pledge & Financial Aid
Pack 9 will ensure that all Scouts who want to go to Summer Camp will go to Summer Camp, regardless of family finances.
Depending on your specific circumstances, financial aid is available from the pack, the council, or both. Email pack9cubmaster@gmail.com or your Den Leader for more details.
Also, Scouts who sell popcorn receive a percentage of their sales as a credit towards their camp fees. If your Scout has a credit available, you will be emailed the precise amount after you have registered.
Day Camp
Day Camp is ideal for younger Scouts who are hungry for their first visit to Camp Drake, but older scouts who just want a one-day adventure will enjoy it too. It is open to all ranks (Tiger through Arrow of Light) and has a full Saturday of activities with optional overnight camping on the Friday before. Activities include archery, BB gun shooting, slingshots, swimming, games, crafts, fishing, camping, and hiking; also, unique adventures are typically offered each year. A parent/guardian MUST attend Day Camp with each Scout.

- Saturday, 9:00am-3:00pm -- Activities
Volunteers who wish to serve on the full-time Day Camp staff will have the Day Camp registration fee waived for one Scout.
Adventure Camp
Adventure Camp is a three-day, three-night summer camp designed for real outdoor adventure, giving older Cub Scouts their first taste of extended tenting. The activities offered are structured to complete specific adventures for each rank, so participating Scouts work directly towards rank advancement. In particular, Arrow of Light Scouts will complete the Outdoor Adventurer requirement, which can be hard to complete otherwise. Most importantly, Adventure Camp is terrific fun! Swimming, hiking, fishing, crafts, range and target sports, and many other outdoor adventures await!
Parents are welcome to attend. Scouts who are working towards Bear, Webelos, or Arrow of Light (3rd-5th Grade) may attend with or without a parent/guardian present, if we have enough leaders able to attend. Scouts working towards Tiger and Wolf (1st & 2nd Grade) MUST be accompanied by a parent/guardian. If you want your scout to go to Summer Camp but your attendance is an issue, let us know. Consult your Den Leader and the Camp Coordinator.

FAQ
Q: My child has never been camping, or only gone once or twice. Which camp is better for them?A: We recommend Day Camp for younger Scouts in 1-2. Older Scouts, grade 3-5, typically have the maturity to enjoy camping multiple nights at Adventure Camp.
Q: Does my Scout have to camp alone, or may I go along?
A: Cub Scouting is a family adventure and we always encourage parents to participate. All Scouts attending Day Camp MUST be accompanied by a parent/guardian, as well as Tiger and Wolf Scouts (1st/2nd Grade) attending Adventure Camp. Bear/Webelos/Arrow of Light Scouts (3rd-5th Grade) may attend Adventure Camp alone.
Q: My Scout's grandma/grandpa/aunt/uncle/adult cousin/family friend would like to camp with them. Is that possible?
A: Yes, but Scouting America's rules for safeguarding youth permit parents/legal guardians only to share a tent with their Cub Scouts. Other adults who wish to attend MUST:
- Register as a unit leader (including criminal background check) and take the mandatory Safeguarding Youth training.
- Bring their own tents and tent by themselves.
Q: Does my Scout need to bring additional money?
A: There are no additional fees once a Scout is at camp, but there is a Trading Post at Camp Drake that sells candy, drinks, ice cream treats, and souvenirs. For those attending Adventure Camp, sending $15-20 would allow a Scout to buy a treat or two each day.
Q: Can we come visit our Scout at Adventure Camp if they were permitted to go without a parent?
A: Absolutely! It would be best to coordinate the visit ahead of time so we can let you know where your Scout will be when you arrive. In particular, Camp Drake encourages families to come out on the third/final night to join their scout for dinner and then the Campfire Program. Family is always welcome at Camp Drake. Please check-in at the First Aid station when you arrive.
